Kingston Sailing Club Activities August – October, 2017

The Riverport Sailing School, a joint program of KSC and the Hudson River Maritime Museum, is running a successful pilot program for youth ages 10 to 18 on August 7 through August 18.

KSC Fall Series Racing Begins August 20 and runs on Sundays through October 15, with the exception of August 27. The Skippers Meetings are at 10:00 a.m. at the Riverport Wooden Boat School of the Hudson River Maritime Museum. First signals on the water are at noon.

The Spinnenweber Regatta will run August 26 and August 27.

If you are a newer skipper and would like to learn how to race, please get a copy of our crew list from our secretary Jack Arnold ( We have several experienced racing sailors who can sail with you and teach you the basics of racing.

If you need crew for racing or casual sailing, please consult our crew list.

Spring Series Racing Begins

Beginning with a practice race on Sunday, May 7, we will meet at the Riverport Sailing School of the Hudson River Maritime Museum at 10:00 a.m. on Race mornings for Skippers Meetings. Interested people may want to come to Skippers Meetings for more information. On race dates, first signals will be at can 71, south of the Kingston Lighthouse, at noon. Our first official race will be Saturday, May 13. Then we will race on Sundays May 21 and 28 and June 11, 18, and 25 and July 2. Wednesday Women on the Water

Wednesday Women On the Water (WOW) starts May 24, 2017. These Wednesday sails are an opportunity for women who are new to sailing to learn the basics and for those who want to build on their existing skills to learn in a friendly, women-run group. Our inaugural WOW series will run from May 24 through June 28, 2017.
